Busy Mama!!

Who seriously has time anymore to blog? Not me and I'm so sad about it! I have no life right now! It's been almost 2 weeks I think. Anyways, quick update.. We are good. We are happy. But we are BUSY :)

childhood cancer awareness

I was reminded by my husband a few days ago that it's childhood cancer awareness month!! As the months go by I tend to forget things. But the past few days I've been remembering everything. Trying to remember every single detail about what we've been through. I never want to forget so I can always know how lucky we are. So here are the things that stick out the most in my mind..

1. the huge lumps in the back of her head
2. a huge "pot belly"
3. a bruise from kassie throwing a soft binki at her cheek (that lasted well over a month)
4. the first of many drives to the hospital
5. waiting in recovery for a dreaded phone call then receiving it
6. phone calls to family
7. AMAZING family coming straight to the hospital
8. the first sleepover in the hospital.. just me and a sweaty little girl clinging to me
9. a first surgery for her line being placed
10. first round of chemo
11. tons of learning before we could take her home
12. a first fever
13. throw up every day
14. a weak little girl who started to regress
15. first strands of hair on her pillow
16. silver dollar pancakes in the hospital
17. nasty steroids
18. crumbs in her bed every night
19. shots (pokies)
20. a line being pulled out (thanks kase) and 911 being called (overreacting mom)
21. a picc line
22. another surgery
23. a port
24. more fevers and more hospital stays (within 2 years we managed to spend 1 of every single holiday in the hospital)
24. REMISSION
25. numerous blood draws
26. lots of set backs
27. but tons of good news too
28. the best doctors and nurses
29. breathing again when we started maintenance therapy
30. a happy healthy little 7 year old today

Autumn

It's totally starting to feel like ~autumn~ in SLC and I'm so excited. This is my favorite time of year for so many reasons..

•beautiful with all the different colors
•bright crisp clear mornings! :)
•jacket weather (and i love jackets & sweaters)

•Pumpkin Patches
•HALLOWEEN

•piles of leaves to play in
•using the cozy fireplace
•favorite TV shows return
•anticipating lots of extended family time in the months to come
•MY birthday

Also, I should mention school. Yes, you're going to be hearing a lot about school from me but it's a huge part of my life right now. There are days where I feel like a got in way over my head. Like yesterday and today. It's days like these. When I'm having a hard time understanding exactly what I'm suppose to be doing and getting my assignment returned to me because I did the wrong "case study." Yeah getting it returned to me not only ONCE but TWICE because I just can't quite grasp it all. I do have some really great patient teachers though, who are more than willing to help day or night. (and yes i take advantage of that) I'm definitely struggling a little but slowly I'm catching on and getting the hang of it all. 2 weeks in and I still have all A's (woot woot:) I do have 4 hard classes (writing, math, nutrition & marketing) but luckily in the middle of all the chaos, I get a super fun break with an easy class.. ZUMBA.. soooo much fun! School is kickin my butt for sure but I'm gonna be kickin it right back!!!

{eight} what are three things that you would like to do that you haven’t done yet?get my concealed weapons, see nickelback in concert and drive all the way up the west coast from bottom to top!

{ten} what five things will you always find in your purse?lotion, my wallet (with all the important crap in it), camera, chapstick, and an elastic for my hair because it always ends up UP by the end of the day :)

any day that my husband is home but if i have to choose, i pick friday because it's short day for the kids and i don't have school.
